Antique French Book - Nature

Beautiful, time work book with character and charm purchased from the booksellers along the Seine River in Paris.  This book is gorgeous.  I couldn't pass it up on a recent trip to Paris while strolling by the iconic booksellers set up along the river.  It is a reprint of a nature text initially published in the 1700s. It is unknown when the reprint was made, but some diligent research suggests it is well over 150 years old. The paper on the inside is beautifully marbled, the leather exterior is faded and worn but the gold embossing still shines, and the text is gloriously uncorrupted by anything digital. This particular book features fold-outs of diagrams and charts. I am not an expert on antique books, but I do know a vintage item with charm, this is one.
